such a sad and hopeless story of death and loss. Sometimes when we are young we get carried away with the romance of it all and don't even understand the what if's.

Let's hope she is curious about her family and tries a DNA test at Ancestry or somewhere to find matches. Yes, life on the Res often has drinking involved and not a lot of work. My late SIL had relatives who preferred life on a Reservation and it was sad.

That is sad how she never saw them again and would have no memories of them. I wonder what she is up to these days.

I hope she is happy. Sad for her father that he could not find her,
but good that she was sheltered and protected.
