Re: Sherri_G

All I can say is that I cannot imagine me, under any circumstances, killing an animal myself, and yet, I had some great chicken for supper that someone somewhere killed and I bought some great=looking beef that came from something that someone killed.  The Inuit people have used animals for food and clothing for hundreds of years.  If they kill a walrus for food and clothing, isn't it wasteful to just leave the tusks there instead of using them for something just because they are made of ivory?

Wow!  That last word left me shocked! What a story. Why would he do that? His wife could have done the dealing and all would have been fine if it was the money they needed-not that I agree with trading ivory. But this is a tragic story - so darn I hooe the baby was reunited with her daddy and there is happiness for them somewher, sometime!

Oh, that is so sad. Too bad he could not have been enrolled into the

Inuit tribe. Did he ever find his little girl?

Good afternoon

I have no words other than that practice is one that should not be allowed, regardless of the Inuit beliefs and culture. Those poor creatures suffer extensively and a few are in danger of being extinct.
