Re: Re: C_C_T

Been a long time since I've seen lardies or anything else for a penny.

I believe it will stay on here all winter, the heating as it had to be in Canada.

Re: I fear you are right - the days of cheap (or even affordable)

Well Pat the clothes of today are many times warmer than they once were. I expect

you can remember the little thin coats we wore and the shoes were part made of cardboard, well they did not last long. Today it is hard to wear a pair out.

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

We use mainly Gas , so I don't know what will happen, but we do have electricity as well. Fortunately we have had a mild winter forcast, so that might be  good news.

Re: Good afternoon Sherri

Well once I grew flowers and gave them away but now Archie sells them and gives a donation to Charities.

Re: Sea Gypsy

No I must just ignore his rows of beans and 200 Dahlias. I told him at the beginning of the season that he could have everything but for things I grow for myself. Of course water is not cheap as it has to be paid for.

Re: Taps

Yes we cannot get any penny lardies or fish and chips for sixpence. Never mind Taps

it is O,K as long as we can pay our way and not have to rob the Bank.

I do think that the Isle of Wight does sound very enticing.

I think cheap days for anything are gone forever....or so it seems.

Isle of Wight! Sounds beautiful. I hope you don't do Archie's work for him while he is gone. Enjoy your weather and we'll be waiting for your Rolls to come 'round one day.

Good afternoon

A warm Autumn is a special treat. I like your help yourself policy. It's nice to share with the neighbors. I do that with my peppers, tomatoes, and my herbs. Waste not, want not.

Good Afternoon

Heating prices are high here and from what I can tell they will continue to rise throughout the winter.  Our heat is on and I was just thinking how fortunate we are to have heat.  Some places do not have heat.  If it gets really cold we have our fireplace and our electric heaters too.  We also dress warm and have lots of blankets for the cold winter months.

With regard to Archie, as they say, "Happy Wife. Happy Life."...That's cute about the speed.

I fear you are right - the days of cheap (or even affordable)

heating fuel are behind us. Bundle up with extra sweaters, wool socks, and tough it out when it gets chilly - that's how the old folks did it, so I guess we can, too.  I hope the visit to the Isle of Wight is enjoyable for your dear ones.
