Children interact with their world less and less. They find it hard to actually hold a decent conversation if it is not about gaming or youtube.

If I could choose between the two for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I would choose the way I grew up, but..... And yet....I find myself spending more and more and more time with the modern equipment of this century and don't want to give it up for anything.

It's so interesting to read about your days growing up. Today it is up to the parents to see that their children participate in athletics and don't live on cell phones and play video games constantly. Many kids here enjoy sports and sporting events, fortunately.

Good afternoon
Thank you for sharing another interesting post from days gone by. I miss those days of using pure creativity to have fun. I grew up mostly unsupervised, and I couldn't wait to get outside and play in the dirt, ride my bike on the trails, swim, and partake in outdoor sports. I also enjoyed board games. The kids today have no clue as to what they are missing out on unless parents and grandparents take the time to show them those experiences. When our two grandkids visit, we don't allow much time for television, tablets, or cell phones. We head straight for the water and the trails. Thankfully, they both enjoy the nature trips. We also have taught them to play card and board games.

Good Afternoon
Pat, I remember when I was growing up we were always told to watch out for strangers but then the kids in the neighborhood were always together and we'd watch out for each other. In the summer we played outside for hours riding our bikes and playing with friends. On really hot days we'd walk to the pool. We always had to be home when the street lights came on. We could catch lightning bugs in the front yard after dark as long as we didn't leave the yard. My grandkids spend a lot of time playing video games online with friends. Times have changed over the years.

You are about right here Pat. Sadly one wonders what will happen to imagination.
It might not seem possible because we can imagine it at this time. Who knows what
changes in the brain may occur.
