Re: Sherry G,

You do eat well at your house! I sometimes add a salad dressing to mayo for a dip for the artichokes. Honey mustard is a good one, too!

Re: Goldiec,

As it turned out, this is too much spice, not enough... something else. Maybe tomato paste, maybe ketchup. But the pork cooked up tender and nice!

Re: Sherry G,

Ah, yes... my first stuffed grape leaves were similarly crunchy!

My epic fail wasn't a sauce. I once made stuffed bell peppers and forgot to cook the rice before adding it to the ground beef mixture that resulted in a crunchy nightmare.

Good Evening

I think your dinner will be delicious.  I always make a tomato-based sauce.  I use a lot of spices and almost always I will put in a little hot sauce and all different kinds of peppers.

In answer to your last question, Yes I Have!

Good afternoon

We eat quite a few different homemade specialty sandwiches for lunch and dinner, so I make a spicy chili sauce for dipping our fries, a creamy horseradish sauce for my roast beef sandwiches, a thousand Island sauce for our Rueben on rye sandwiches, and a honey mustard sauce for dipping my spicy breaded chicken fingers. I also make a pesto sauce that I dab on my blistered green beans and also use to toss with penne pasta. A good chili paste sauce can be used for so many different things. I find that mayonnaise, ketchup, or mustard are great bases for starting an awesome sauce. I also like using mirin, Worcestershire, vinegar, hoison, balsamic, and lemons.
