We've always had them here every summer. When fall comes they fly south. The ones I remember the most though was in the Santa Fe, New Mexico area. We noticed one going back and forth from a pine tree to flowers and discovered a tiny nest about the size of 1/4 cup that had three teeny tiny babies in it. We pulled the van over close to the tree and climbed up on top of it to look down into the nest without bothering anything.

I love them too, but the cooler temps have forced them to move on to a warmer environment.
