- Go to The Loon Is Loud Today
We hear and see them every morning and evening here. Love their call; it is the sound of the wild, much like coyotes or wolf howls. Loved the way your post ends - his job was done, and a fine one he did too by chasing away the gloom.

was the loon warning i wonder or was it just distressed because morning seemed to fade back to night. I loved the sounds of the loons so often in Canada.

Re: C_C_T and FSI
Long before noon all of the clouds went away and so did the Loon. Now it is bright sunshine, dry, and hot. I am picturing the loon stretched out on the east side of the lake where he stays most of the time, with his long legs stretched out into the water and keeping an eye out for little fish. It is a fairly small lake that is stocked every year by the Kansas City parks department.

What a scene that must have been. I don't think I've ever seen a loon.

I have never heard a Loon. It does sound forboding but I guess it was the way it was to be.
