Sad, but true.

I am sure you are correct. We are always looking to dominate someone wweaker than ourselves or if they are similiar to us we may enjoy being allies so we can dominate together.... Put two turkeys one each side of a fence and they will fight all day. Chase one from his side of the fence to be with the other and the fight stops. best of friends again.

Good morning

The survival of the fittest is crazy but true. I much prefer vegetation over meat. John and I have never been hunters. It's sad that the weak will always be taken over by the more dominating presences, but it is all in the grand scheme of things.

This is a very interesting read and much to think about.

Re: Re: Goldiec

Pat, It really is sad because there are so many peace-loving people.

Re: Goldiec

Comforting to know that trained civilians are volunteering and can help. Sad to think we may need the need help because of the aggression of other humans.

Good Morning

Pat, your post made me stop and think and the one thing I can say is that sometimes we may be forced to protect our own.  I hope it doesn't come to that but who knows what's coming at this point?  When I was on the Citizens Emergency Response Team for 10 years the one thing that we learned is to take care of ourselves.  We were taught that help may not be coming.  It's a scary thought but it could be true.  I trained in many different scenarios and I learned that even if you are using a fire extinguisher to put out a fire you must never turn your back on the fire.  You must back away facing the fire.  This is just one of many things I learned over my 10-year training with CERT.  I have to say I'm well-trained in disaster.  It's really scary all the things that could happen.  We learned where the pressure points are in the body and how to stop an artery from bleeding if need be.  I took that class three times.  I can stabilize a bone in the woods if it's broken but I always hope nothing like this ever happens.  There are people everywhere just like me that can help people in times of chaos.  The doctors, nurses, firemen, and policemen will be our frontline helpers if something goes really wrong.
