Good Afternoon
Your son had such a full life and experienced so many ups and downs during his service.

He knew you would be worried so he used humor as camouflage - a son protecting his mom as she had protected him all those years. God love his heart!

Well he had his battle scars, promotion was great extra cash and other little extras when one moves up the chain of command even if it is not very high for a start.

I think Mark's sense of humor was a strong plate in his suit of armor,
what a nice guy - camoflage mustache and all!

I must have missed something. What caused the scars? He has risen up the ranks and enjoys his assignments. He performed an exception and great service to our country.

Good evening
Making it to a third-class petty officer is great. That rank comes with a bit of extra pay. With all that he has experienced, he more than deserved it.
