Good Afternoon
I truly enjoy reading about a time when the world was so different but yet it almost seems like we've gone full circle and we are back to very trying times. Thank goodness they took the people aboard and gave them food, water, and clothing. I hope they all went somewhere safe from war.

His pureness of heart shines through in his letters. A reflectiotn of his good mother, I'm sure. His adventures are amazing to hear and it's so great to have you sharing them.

This lovely story is one serviceman's bird's eye view of history - so
clear and interesting, and what a good bunch of guys aboard his ship, to take in the Vietnamese boat people and get them to safety.

His empathy for others shines through his written word. A mother can only be proud of a son she raised to show such feeling, and to be able to express it the way he did.

Ah how wonderful these people were rescued and would survive. From Hong Kong they may have gone to Australia. We had many refugees from Vietnam way back when.

You are sharing with us a lot of important history, TAPS. I am so thankful for that. It goes to show that the effects of the Vietnam War continue to be felt after the war ended.

It's evident that your lad got the best out of life, noticing things and appreciating them, and sharing them.
