I was glad to hear from him as he returned to cell-phone range around 2pm. I was able to pick him up by 6pm, and we were home well before dark. Glad of that... no terrible traffic jam this time, either--just a little rain and the usual crazy drivers.

Did you ever use a washboard. My Mom had one and used it to scrub the dirtiest things. You know how it goes with seven children. They can get pretty dirty.

Good Afternoon
I hope you are having a lovely Sunday afternoon. It's been raining on and off here today and it's very cloudy. After summer heat, I've learned how to appreciate every raindrop. We did have some intense storms for a little while today.

I am afraid I forget what a sunrise looks like I could lie in bed until noon.
I have to get up at 6am to water the garden. I would love the hear the rain pattering
on the window. Hoping we get another soft Autumn can do without the frost
that we used to have.

I almost missed the sunrise this a.m. - also woke up early.
None of the backyard critters were astir - there were dewdrops on the grass, it was fresh and cool. Almost (but not quite) hated to go back to bed.
