Re: adnohr
When he was about nine years old, we took the boys salmon fishing in a little fishing boat off the coast of Oregon about two miles out, and three of the four tossed their cookies off of the side (I also). When he joined the Navy he was determined he would not get seasick. He must have practiced mind over matter because he never did.

Haha! I enjoyed his little snark about the chow line being shorter. Lucky him obviously wasn't one to have his stomach rolling with the waves.

As has been suggested before, these letters would make a great book! I am so glad you're sharing them!

What a great seaman he was! You can tell just how very much he loved it in the Navy. Long Beach is quite a port and not everyone realizes it. Good for him to get on the new ship.

It's definitely not for the seasick, that is for certain.

Good afternoon
It's great that they had some downtime where they could relax on the beach. That had to be a really rare day for his squadron.
