I can understand the need for IDs. The thing that the ID is attached to around the neck is called a lanyard. Thankfully, we had the option of using that or a clip to wear our IDs.

Well I suppose it is mainly to stop an unauthorised person from entering, sad in a way though.

Good morning
I.D. really is a big deal, and even though it was back in the days of dinosaurs, my high school required that students had to have our student I.D.'s on hand during pep rallies, dances, and any other school activities such as detention. More than likely it is a safety precaution.

Good Morning
FSI, I can understand the school making each student carry an ID card. I do think it was a little harsh to make the ones who forgot them have detention though.
