Hah! That's so funny about not picking any of the names Roy has for your squirrel!

My brother has put an enclosure of wire around parts of his garden. It works well for him.

The last time I grew tomatoes in the garden the squirrels got them all.  They even started when they were still green just getting a tinge of turning color.  I was so disgusted with them, and the green caterpillars were eating up my parsely.  The cardinals were eating up all the sunflower seeds but that was all right.  I grew them for the birds.

I know it vis the same when the Blackbirds go for the best strawberries.

You will either have to net the tomatoes or give the squirrel the frighteners.

Those little rascals. They didn't get my tomatoes, but they took a bite out of several of our peppers. They are adorable little assholes!

Good morning

It's been chilly here in the mornings as well. We are supposed to warm up by tomorrow. I need Saturday to be a nice sunny day for my son-in-law's birthday party. We are grilling burgers, and I am making fried chicken, and a Nacho cheese Mexican casserole. The oldest is bring potato salad. I love potatoes. I can't believe that a 10 lb bag is almost $5.00 in my area. I make the fried potatoes with peppers and onions too. The kielbasa is delicious with them with a side of mustard.

Re: If you can find some chicken wire to keep yon squirrel out of your tomatoes

Pat, we have a fence all around the patio to keep the deer out but not on each plant.

I'm sure the names Roy has for the squirrel are foul.

If you can find some chicken wire to keep yon squirrel out of your tomatoes

it would be a good idea to put it up. Otherwise the little varmint will have first choice of all the fruits of your labor. My former neighbor used to trap them when the backyard squirrels went after his big juicy beefsteak tomatoes.
