I hope Pixie is not thinking little different thoughts how she might like to spend a night on the tiles . No I don't think its that ,she just might be curious about the big world outside.

I think the whole world breathes a sigh of relief when the heat-waves season gives over to those mild autumn days!
Charlie got little boots for Milo. Partly for the hot-pavement protection, but mainly because where they walk, he would get little stickery things like burrs between his toes. Milo, that is. Charlie always wears shoes for walkies!

We finally, finally got some thunderstorming in the evening, with most of the dramatics to the north of here. I watched from the covered deck as much of the lightning set the clouds aglow, and sometimes was visible as a sharp light. Once, very clearly, a whole net of lightning lit up above the clouds, but pretty far off. Eventually, rain came softly, and lasted for some time, but we never got the dramatics right overhead.
Yes, the plants here also rejoice in the deep watering of a long, heavy rain!

I'm looking forward now to "pumpkin spice latte" season at Starbuck's.
I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole, what a disgusting idea. But a cool afternoon on the front porch while the doggies walk their people with sweaters on seems to be just around the weather corner.

Good afternoon
We got a bit of heat relief yesterday and an hour ago with some severe thunderstorms. The skies are clearing up a bit, but more rain is headed our way here in Pittsburgh. My veggies, herbs, and the potted flowers are loving it.
