- Go to TEACHERS OR GUNS: WHICH DOES AMERICA NEED?
adnohr said it right. The average Joe doesn't need an assault weapon. I don't know what will happen but it shouldn't be an either/or - children and teachers should be safe. We need to figure out how to do that.

I totally agree with you but it isn't going to happen and that breal\ks my heart. Children should surely be able to go to school and arrive home and have been safe. If I was a teacher I wonder how long I would be prepared to stand in the line of fire to try and save the little ones who relied on me. No teacher should have to ddo this.

Good afternoon
Assault weapons need to be banned. I understand owning a gun for protection, but weapons of mass destruction go way overboard. In the hands of the wrong person, they lead to nothing good.

Good afternoon
Teachers have it rough. They are there to teach, but they have the constant worry of a student suddenly going out of control. I do not envy their job. IMHO, they are not paid enough to teach, parent, and do the job that a psychiatrist is paid $100,000 a year to perform. God bless them all.

Good Morning
I personally would not want to be a teacher in this day and age. It's too stressful.

Two of my grandchildren are still in school and my DIL is a teacher. This problem is quite often heavy on my mind. I do not understand why civilians were ever allowed to buy assault weapons to begin with.

The House passed the ban on assault weapons on July 30th, didn't they, even if the Repubs voted against it? Not many seem confident that the bill will get past Congress though.
