Climate change may be a joke or hoax to some, but all our expectations of weather conditions and seasons are no longer supported by what's actually happening. I guess we should stop being surprised and flummoxed by it all.

I noticed the same line in your poem before reading Sea Gypsy's comment.
Descriptive! Our strawberries are lacking taste this year, I find. But my rhubarb is up and pies will soon be in the works!!

Good Afternoon
For a few days now we've been getting rain off and on. It gets cloudy and then we hear thunder and then the rain comes. Our rain barrels are filling up and that is a very good thing. Yesterday when it started to rain I went to the kitchen window and stood and watched the rain. We've had days when it was supposed to rain but it didn't and I was thankful to see the rain. Everything is changing and there is so much drought and the heat is oppressive so when it rains I'm going to watch it because there's a possibility that I took it for granted over the years. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Re: Re: Sea Gpysy
Glad to hear no more frosts like that. Here it is more humid than it used to be. I am feeling better, thank you.

ReSherri
You must have had more rain than we. Perhaps your blackberries are a tougher variety, I bet your hubby enjoys his treat. I know he works hard and was not feeling to
good a while ago.

Re:Pat
I expect they grow well in your country if they can be kept watered. Blackbirds used to be the problem we had to net the plants. Occasionally a bird was trapped under the net break its neck was the advice, I always let it go, to have another try.

Re: Kabu
Tes it is a fiddling job trying to pick wild strawberries when one is standing at the
bottom of the hill. I think I have gone up and fallen over.

Thank you, It really happened we do not get those really bad frosts any longer, one small benefit. Hope that you feel better.

Wild strawberries grow here in the front over the stones and around the black eyed Susanthat almost grows wild.I leave them as I did in Canada so that birds and squirrels can have a treat.

I don't remember going to all that trouble for strawberries
although we did have a couple dozen plants along the back fence. As I remember it, the problem wasn't weather - blooms and berries came along with just a bit of watering as the soil in the Midwest is very warm by strawberry season. I do remember the teams cutting through the alley on their way to the ball diamond got a lot of those berries, little hands reaching through the picket fence - and it turns out that red robins love them, too.

Poor little runnerbean blossom. While feeling sorry for it, I've forgotten what the second poem was about. I shall have to go back and read it again. That's not unusual for me, though. I just lost another post a bit ago.

Good afternoon
Apparently, Ms. Dunne is one tough woman who had an agenda that involved saving the fruit regardless of the chilled air and soaked clothing.

Good afternoon
My hubby took a blackberry hand pie in his lunch today. Blackberries are abundant in our area.
