Wonderful to have the opportunity to learn these languages.

Re: TAPS

This beautiful verse transcends ethnicities, nationalities, and borders in its wisdom.

I once tried really hard to learn Italian and I can speak Greek although lost a lot since I don't use it now. It is great to have more than one language.

I had three school years of Spanish, and all my life my Mom and my Aunties were teaching me Czech (a family language), and my Dad was alway pushing Choctaw.  He grew up with it in Oklahoma and took a Choctaw newspaper.  That was kind of fun:  A Choctaw Bible Verse for you:  "Okisa iskitinosi aconhash aiabihashki"   (Enter ye in at the straight gate.)

Good afternoon

That's actually pretty cool. With so many ethnic groups now living everywhere in the world, learning a second language could never hurt. My high school only offered German, Spanish, and French. It's wonderful how schools are expanding to include a broader spectrum of varied languages.

Re: Re: Good Morning

FSI, it would have been hard for me to do what you did.  I give you credit and I'm sure the students appreciated you.

Re: Good Morning

In college, I taught English to Spanish-speaking people. It was challenging at first, and I did get the hang of it. What helped me is that I didn't speak Spanish, so it wasn't like I could say in Spanish. I had to use English to teach. The students and I benefitted.

Good Morning

FSI, I think if I was going to teach a language I would want it to be French.  I took three years of French when I was in school but I always struggled with it.  I wonder if it's different being the teacher and trying to help students understand the new language.  I think it might be trying at times for them.
