She's too smart for her own good, as my grandmother would say, LOL!

Pistache is a Quaker, also a rescue, and Quakers are not known as having a calm disposition. She has her favorite person too- for a couple of years now that has been me - but she still shows me her displeasure whenever she's tired or in a mood! SHe needs her 10 to 12 hours of sleep per night, or can be very grumpy the next day!

Miss you too! As TAPS said once - thank goodness for the easy ways of

communication we can access in this day and age. Can you imagine waiting on written letters going through the post office, especially with the speed and reliabilty that service offers at the moment? We are all looking forward to me working from home, certainly the beasts, I am sure.

Re: Defintely not, CCT!

I had offers from other companies to continue in that profession, but went for the lower-paying cashier job instead and enjoyed it! This one is in custom brokerage, something I worked in years ago, so it will be more of a relearning and catching up thing.

My friend contacted me today and thanked us for taking her out of her

funk. She has a blocked aorta too, and the doctors seem to be ignoring it because of her age - she's 76 - and she's depressed and scared. We encouraged her to call for another opinion, and she was looking into that today. I am attached to the bird in spite of her attitude. She has changed hands more than once, poor thing, and that may be part of her problem. Yes - I am quite excited about the new job!

Re: I guess spunk is a good word for it, FSI.

Hahaha, Pat!

This bird would fit right in!Maybe she does gossip but we just don't understand her language...most of the time. We are lucky so far, only a couple of hot days, but nothing like what you people are going through down there!

I don't think they would be too fresh through the postal service, Sherri!

Yep - lotsa noise when I arrive home. They're very demonstrative, even if I've only been gone 10 minutes!

She is a terror sometimes, Ciel.

I'm hoping she'll settle down more when I am back working form home.

I always enjoy your smiles! thank you. It sounds exciting to be having a home office and also a chance for advancement! As for your "mouthy"bird, my friend has always had birds and had an African Grey who would bite her fairly badly. He was adopted by her and didn't like females. Eventually she re-homed him. she has other parrots and parrotlet's though. Yours sounds very smart!

I read this when you first posted it but some how I failed to comment.  I just got back from lunch with Nila and thought it was new for me.  Things like that happen to old people.  LOL

Yes be careful you don't want to be lumbered with something you have endured.

I did my tax on the net this year, if things progress like this one has to look ahead

especially if I can do it, well with my brother grumbling.

Good Afternoon

I loved your post.  I'm not sure how you handle your bird.  I don't think me and the bird would get along for five minutes.  I couldn't take the attitude.  I'm so glad you got to visit with your friend and I'm sure she was happy to see you.  I hope the week goes by fast and then you will start your new career.  It all sounds so exciting to me.

The bird has some spunk there, LOL.

I've known mouthy birds in my time, mostly they were working in

civil service positions on the job and resistant to training. At least your crabby little feathered friend doesn't indulge in office gossip.  I'm feeling very positive about your new job. Smiling. Stay safe and cool today.

Good morning

I can just envision the chaos from the animals upon your arrival home. Grumpy birds are pretty hilarious, and cats, well they are just plain persnickety. As for those cinnamon buns, yes, please?

Such an exciting time for you! Not so much for the grump in the birdcage... I chuckle at that, being too far away to get bit!
