Good Morning

I give your son every bit of credit for volunteering to help with the well.  That was a big job for 12 guys.

I enjoy how you tell the stories as much as how Ribcage wrote them. Also, I think I remember when the water wells were dug. It may have been on the news.

I admire people who are involved in well-digging for those developing communities. They're making the world a better place one village at a time.

Good morning

I hope that you feel better. Your son was an amazing man. Volunteering is not for everyone, but people with good character are usually who you will find doing such humanitarian efforts for their community.

Hearing you tell it is as good as copying out his letters! Both your voices are eloquent!

Re: I believe I know where your son got his warm and caring ways...

I wonder if Korean people do water witching.  They already had the spot picked out by the time the fellows got there.

Yes.  You are so right about that.

I wouldn't know how to dig a well, either, but I do remember in the long, long ago there was a man they called on to "witch" the best place to dig. He used a "Y" branch off a tree, holding onto the two shorter ends and pointing the long one straight ahead. It was supposedly a kind of tuning fork that would be pulled downward like iron to a magnet where the underground water was as he paced slowly.

An amazing man, that Ribcage. I'm hoping that by writing these posts it is filling your ind and your  heart with the warmest memories of him. I know when I remember things about my loved ones, it often brings tears to my eyes, but at the same time sweet feelings of how special they were. They seem to be there sharing it too.
