The poor lady has health problems so can't really work, and her
finances are limited. We took her some frozen chili, spaghetti sauce and pasta, a BBQ chicken, cheeses and biscottes and I made some cinnamon buns to add to the package. She was delighted by the package, but more so because we stayed a couple of hours and chatted with her. Messaged me later to tell me it did wonders for her depression. It's not easy for a person who is aged AND sick.

It was an amount I had loaned the person 5 or 6 years ago, and forgot about it as time went on. It was definitely a surprise - a NICE one!!

Wow! A surprise envelope of cash! That's what I call a lucky day. I'm so glad everything is looking up for you. I think you are so kind to visit your friend that is feeling down and bring her some nice treats. I sure hope the storms pass you by. We are having a very hot day here and later we may get severe storms. The good news is that next week it will be cooler. At this point, I wish it would snow. Enjoy your day!

Nice one, a friend bringing an envelope full of cash is just the cherry on
top to make a day all better. You have very nice friends! I loved your bit about the poor doggie's possible reaction to being left alone in a roomful of cats. It would make a wonderful analogy for a "just desserts" story that's beginning to perk in the silly woman department of my mind. Have a wonderful day.
