I love how he tells each story. Snd something in my blood truly lives the bagpipes. Must be the Celtic drops.

Good Afternoon

I think it takes a certain kind of person to work on a ship.  I would be afraid when the weather got bad.

Re: I have to agree with FSI on this one.

I love the water, but not when it gets agitated.

Good afternoon

Bagpipes tend to have that effect.

Re: The idea of bagpipes in a fog is just begging to be the background

I loved foghorns along the Oregon Coast.

The idea of bagpipes in a fog is just begging to be the background

of a scary movie. I love bagpipes, and when I lived in Seattle loved the foggy mornings and the sound of foghorns from the ferry boats. I am so thankful so many in the military served and stood steady during terrifying situations.

Re: FSI

During the years he was there he experienced huricanes where everyone was scared.  During one of them he was thrown against something that split his upper lip badly.  The medic had never sewn anyone up  so he provided him a first aid kit and he had to sew up his own upper lip--five stitches.

I'd be so scared of those rough seas. It makes me think of The Perfect Storm.
