I definitely had stress before I broke out. I had been out and overdid it and was totally worn out when I got back home. I was going to stretch out on the bed and get rested but some how I fell on the floor beside the bed. I was so tired I could not get back up. I tried and tried and finally just pulled a blanket off of the bed and rested on the floor. After hour or so nap, I started trying again to get up and finally made it, but woke the next morning with shingles. Being a nurse, I knew that immediate icepacks on the breakout would help a lot. Also, at the beginning of fever blisters, icepacks at the breakout time make them keep from horribly bad. But, inspite of the icepacks, and pain medicine they lasted long and were very painful.

Stress is often the cause of Shingles. I got the Shingles shot last year due to their warnings about how horrible it is to deal with. It's great that you got through them. I have heard that they can leave scars.

I was waiting for something medical. I had shingles once and did not go to the doctor's. I hope I never have them again. I wouldn't tough it out another time.
