I had to be careful when I was visiting Greek with the Greek because they too eat all sorts of....yes includig Prairee Oysters.

Among the gourmet items in today's post are NONE that appeal to me.
Until today I'd never even heard of balut, but what a stomach-churning idea that is. I've heard of Rocky Mountain oysters - don't even like the ocean variety of that strange fruit. I think I'll stick to cooked string beans with a drizzle of bacon grease, perhaps a baked potato with sour cream. I do very much admire your son's way of getting acquainted with the culture of various countries, his ability to relate to people, and his way of explaining everything so clearly. Thank you for sharing your memories of him with us.

I would've taken a pass on balut as well. My stomach can't stand the thought.
