Had to giggle at his(That could come in very handy) understatement! He was an very good writer - with his so few words he takes us right there.

Good afternoon
Thank you for sharing. That is one large vessel. The navy ships never fail to fascinate me when you see how huge they are in person. My hubby spent time on a few of them during his navy career. I always feared for his safety once he boarded.

Re: C_C_T
You will laugh but every time I pass his photo I am tempted to salute him and give him a wink.

What strikes me is that it sounds like a really huge ship he was on.

Taps I think as we age we are able to shield ourselves from the pain of losing a loved
one. We tend as you suggest to keep them near to us in the subconscious. My
Brother died last year but it just seems that I don't want to feel the pain that
happens usually. Once I would have been so sad when you lost Ribcage but it is the
same feeling. One was only to pleased to have known him obviously through you, well mostly.

I've thought at times some of my memories might have been dreams.
It is all good. Amazing to read the details of service on a big ship. Ribcage was such a good writer.

It is one of those pictures that unrolls a little at a time. Perhaps you weren't there long enough?

I love reading about Ribcage. How you must miss him. You were blessed to have his company. Some many people I have known have no children to remember or have few or no good memories of them, and those who do are blessed in their own way. Not that it diminishes your pain nor how much you misss him in any way.
The picture didn't come through on my computer. How I wish it had. Thos black things must be essential for ships. Good thing they have them.
