Re: Good Evening
Pat, one more thing I forgot to say. In my hotel, there would be central air. The electricity would come from a satellite high in the sky. People would come from miles around to cool off on a hot summer day.

Good Evening
While reading your post about the Old West, Pat, I could just picture the women in town. I'm sure they were tough as nails and would give the men a run for their money. I wonder how they got the stains out of the cowboy's clothes. The guys probably wore their clothes for weeks and they were grimy, dirty, and smelly. I'm not sure I have anything in my laundry room that would clean those clothes. I do have oxy clean and downy liquid softener but I think I would need something more powerful than my Arm n Hammer laundry detergent.
I can see each one of the Blogit ladies in the Old West. Once we got to town everything would change for the better. I know I wouldn't put up with any nonsense. I think I would like to own a hotel and rent out rooms. I could hire people to clean the rooms when people left town. That would give workers a decent wage to buy what they needed. There would be ladies that worked at the country store and there would have to be a church in town for Sunday morning worship. We would need a schoolhouse for the children and that would require a teacher. We would have a library and we could have books shipped in on the stagecoach. I could rent one of my hotel rooms to an author and he would write mysteries and poetry for all of us. We would need restaurants and waitresses along with a Chef to make delicious food.
The Saloon might be a problem but we could set down ground rules and put someone in charge that would make sure everything was done right. I have the best time when I'm writing make-believe. I hope you have a good night.

Even a fancy lady of the night shouldn't have to deal with filthy clothes and bodies. I am sure the boys felt better as well.

Good morning
I'm sure that life was no picnic during that time in history. When I lived in Fallon, Nevada, we would travel to Virginia City, NV. That old west town gave a really good view as to how they lived in those days of gun slinging. There was a brothel at the edge of town that was referred to as the house of the ill repute. The women carried guns too.

One for pleasure, one to treasure. Depended if one wanted to make some kind of life out of it all.
