C_C_T, I hope your tomatoes do okay. A good harvest would be great!

Re:
FSI, if I didn't have air conditioning I'm not sure what I would do. We have it in the living room and bedroom and I'm very thankful for that.

Putting out water dishes for your wild visitors is recommended by many animal rescue places in hot and dry weather. I remember when I had a lawn to water, little birds in summertime would fly through the spray!
Charlie has recently seen a skunk, raccoons, and a fox in the neighborhood down by the creek where he walks his dog, Milo. I have not seen a fox for several years around here!

Good morning
Nature always finds a way when it comes to our plants. We water at night so that the high heat escalates their growth. It's going to be in the lower 90s here today too. Thank goodness for AC. Stay cool and have a great day!

Not much in the way of air conditioning here ,but it may change. I noticed the tomatoes in the green house looked stressed although we have sprayed white over the glass, the sun does seem harsh. I threw netting on the greehouse to help reduce the glare.

I myself cannot imagine a life without air conditioning, which is a rather recent phenomenon. I timed when I was born well.

I've begun to think the critters - squirrels, raccoons, etc. - have
certain routes they follow, places they go to "shop" and forage. Maybe your furry visitors will return again as their routine includes your yard. Our local TV news has recently featured black bears in neighborhoods around St. Louis. People in this town who live within a couple miles of the big SIUE campus, where deer have a habitat, often have their shrubbery and flowers nibbled by grazing deer.
