It is hard to believe how things have changed, I hope Karen can grow some nice veggies we are plagued with white butterflies in the summer so I have to cover brassicas with netting. I do hope your son improves rapidly, it just seems to be one downer every day. I wonder could you not do small tax accounts at home, it does seem a shame with your talent.

I know the money is good but 6 days is a lot of hours precious Lady. You gotta take care of you. I know I couldn't do it now. I do wish you could work from home again.

Good Afternoon

I'm so glad that your son is good!  I know he is enjoying his time at home.  Prices are going up here too.  Every week groceries are more expensive.  My plan is to make as many sauces as I possibly can from the garden.  I hope we have a good growing season.  The first thing to go for me was cable and we are adjusting very well.  We have Hulu and although it did take some time to get used to it I like it.  My cable bill was up to $300 a month and it was just too expensive.  I now pay $75 for Hulu and Roy put an antenna outside.  Our gas prices are now over $5 a gallon.  Everywhere I go I hear grumbling about the economy.  I can only hope for the best. I got a notice that my electricity and my gas are going up but I need my utilities so I will have to find a way to cut back.  I think we are all in this together and when we find little tips on how to save we should share those ideas with everyone.  I've truly never seen a time like this before.  I hope you have a very good day.

Things seem so iffy, here and there and in your beautiful home.

Good to know your son's doing OK - that plus outweighs so many minus points. I think your budget measures are very wise, and may give you some peace of mind as the irritation of robo calls fades away. Be well.

Good morning

That is great that your son is better and taking some time off to recuperate. Medication can be rough on a body. John just went through this with his Augmentin prescription. It got rid of his infection but it gave him terrible stomach aches. I guess that you can't have it all. It appears that costs are affecting everyone. We have some of the highest gas prices in the nation in our area and our cable service is completely out of control by charging a monthly fee of no less than $210.00. It is connected to our landline that we no longer even use. If we had a second option for cable, I'd change over in a second. I guess that I joined you for a minute on that soapbox. Anyway, I hope that everything works out for you and your family.

It does remind me of how the times are changing. So few people have landlines these days. And also, so many people are cutting the cord when it comes to cable.

Austerity measures... I suppose most of us are paying for more things than we actually need or even value, so there is room to cut expenses without much loss. It's harder, of course, for those who never could afford the extras and luxuries.
