I know what you mean. My youngest grandson drew me a picture and texted it to me.

I do feel something has gotten lost with the reduction of snail mail. It was exciting to receive an unexpected letter.

Re: Good morning

For this day and age I like Messenger a lot for my grandchildren and one greatgrandchild who is old enough to use it with parent permission.  I like it because they use it and because it stays in place without vanishing.  It seems one can go back forever and find what you are looking for.

Good morning

Oh, I just loved reading this post. It took me back 35 years to when I used to write letters to my mommom. I still have the letters that she sent to me in response. The grandparent/grandchild relationship is like no other. My twelve-year-old granddaughter, Chloe has a Smartphone, and while she doesn't write letters, she sends me texts regularly along with pictures that she has drawn.

I no longer have the mailing addresses of many people on my

Christmas card list... They move to another place or state, and only mention it on Facebook, etc., Mama used to write & receive letters on a weekly basis from her sisters and her mother - it was how we kept in touch. How priceless those letters would be today if we could bind them in a journal and keep them on a bookshelf.
