It does appear that History usually affects the achievement of a country, rarely the way it was achieved. So interesting.

Thanks for opening my eyes to this Indian history. We didn't learn much Indian history during my school years.

Hello Shamaji,

Wonderful narration and with great clarity. Lord Robert Clive, the commander-in-chief, followed by Charles Cornwallis and the finally Warren Hastings took hold of the Zamindars who tortured their subjects to no end and paid rich gifts to these Englishmen. Bengal, with Neel plantatations destroyed Bengal's agriculture and causee severe famine. Bankin Chandra Chatterjee's Debi Choudhurani is a wonderful book which was banned by the British.

Thank you so much dear friend. I was concerned it may have involved empire building and sadly I was right. I appologise on behalf of some of my ancestors; and yes please do continue with histories of India. (I am a jumble of english scotish irish and Scandinavian ancestory but am really an Australian.)

Good afternoon

Thank you for sharing. There are so many battles that have taken place in our world. I was once told that if you put two men in a room alone, eventually they will argue.
