Yes, fixed incomes will feel the brunt of this.

Same here C C T. So difficult it has become to keep pace with the rising costs. Age and wage have now become inversely proportional

I prefer to be cheerful. Inflation is not the cashier's fault.

I have found that too, CCT, but am happy to say it is not the case where I am working. Everyone there is so polite and smiling with the customers, difficult ones too, and believe me, there are enough of those. It's one of the things management is very insistent about and I agree. Unrequited love - never easy.

I think standing at a check out day in and day out is a hard labor job and I am always courteous and please and thank you and a smile come automatic to my lips. It nearly always brings a like wise response.

Good Afternoon
I think with the high prices including food and gas it's hard to be pleasant.

It's not just in shops or cafes, either - drivers on the road are much
more hostile and impatient. I think its a side-effect of Covid, even for those lucky enough not to have caught it.

I've noticed a lot of decorum has gone away. The pandemic hastened it, I feel...Often, there is not true closure when it comes to the end of relationships.

It is best not to wonder who traveled past those lips. Sometimes the past is best left in the past.

Good afternoon
You nailed it. The wage increases can not possibly keep up with the rising cost of groceries, gas, utilities, and housing. War is a large part of the issue, but higher wages means that employers must raise their prices too. It's a lose-lose situation all the way around.

Even though the years roll by and we mature with the ages, your writings never get old and they always have something in them that are right up there with modern concerns.
