Re: I apologize, Goldiec - I guess hydro is a Canadian expression for

adnohr, thank you so much for explaining what hydro means, and now I can say that I know what Dunany Demons are.  Caeser would back you up 100% when it comes to what a cashier goes through in a day.  He would prefer being a stock boy but he tries to be a team player.  I think you will do fine with the customers because you like to chit-chat just like me.

Re: Being a pleasant person is normal for you, Kabu.

Hahaha! I can still picture you and that cat walking through the 3 big doggies, who are nearly as big as you are but who backed off smartly when you told them to do so!! Love back at ya!

Thank you, Sassyass.

It rained here, so I slept off and on all day.

Re: They certainly do have great attitudes, FSI.

So far, so good. I was pleasantly surprised.

I apologize, Goldiec - I guess hydro is a Canadian expression for

electric power, and I never realized that it is not a term used everywhere. Out here in the bush on the Laurentian mountains in the Dunany area (where I live), the locals say it's the first place where it will snow, and the last place where snow melts. My imagination conjured up the Dunany Demons, who cause such weather, and they will go from place to place disturbing the temperatures. I lay all the blame at their feet.

So Caeser can support my statement that being a cashier is not an easy job by any means, but then any kind of service industry has its drawbacks. I like to chit chat too, so probably find that part easier than he would.

Re: I have observed all kinds of obnoxious BS from customers when

It takes so little effort to be kind and polite. Most people are, but there is always the 'one'. I really can't picture you being obnoxious, Pat_B.

My love back to the bush in Quebec, to you and Karen to That bird and of course the doggies who don't mind if I walk through the pack of them with Graysome in my arms. BTW for many years now I always smile at the cashier and say Thank you, try to be as pleasant as I can.

Good afternoon

Tired bones and a jacuzzi have that effect on a body and mind. My old brain appears to be slowing down a bit as well. As tired as you may be, you did manage to write us a friendly blog post. I hope that you have a great and restful day.

It sounds like you have found yourself a nice place to work at where the people all have great attitudes.

Good Morning

I wish you the very best with your new job.  When I read your post I was wondering what Hydro may go off means?  I'm not familiar with the word.  I also wonder what Dunany Demons means?  I'm sure it's about the weather but I wonder about the meaning.

My grandson Caeser is working at a grocery store and he started stocking but they don't have enough employees so they have him cashiering when needed.  He tells me about some of the customers and they get upset about the prices and ask to speak to a manager.  Caeser explains that the price is right but he still calls the manager for them.  It holds up the line but there's nothing he can do.  He's not a chit-chatter like his Grandma and one lady complained because he didn't talk more. He does his job but he really prefers stocking.  I give you every bit of credit.

I hope you enjoy your days off.  I know your fur babies like when you are home.

I have observed all kinds of obnoxious BS from customers when

they're at the checkout stand, and I always try my best to be pleasant, to wish them a safe day and show a little appreciation. I was a server once.
