Great Post. it is wonderful to be able to say those words My favorite teacher was.... I never liked one of my teachers. I either despised them for their laziness, their cruelty, sarcasm, or lack of ability to teach. I had a History teacher at Boarding school who I appreciated for her style of teaching but she was a nasty elderly woman  totally unapproachable.

Good Afternoon

Pat, this is a great post.  I had to smile when I was reading it because I took Algebra and I was so bad at it.  I had no idea what they were trying to teach me.  It was all foreign to me.  The teacher told me she would pass me with a D- if I promised to never take her class again.  She did tell me that I was so good in English that she could not understand why I couldn't understand algebra.  When I think back I do believe it was because I loved English, writing, reading, and anything to do with English.  My one son is so good at math.  I have no idea where he gets it from.  When he was in college he took the highest math classes and can take a problem and work it all the way down the page and never get one wrong.  He took all the classes in algebra and calculus and aced every one of them.  Then there's his mother!  What can I say?

Good afternoon

I too did not master math, but I was really good when it came to times tables. Thank goodness that calculators came along. They are a Godsend. I also favor my 4th-grade teacher. He was young, but he saw in me a willingness to learn. I won the spelling bee that year that I attended Mr. Boehm's class. He rewarded us with a trip to the local Dairy Queen. I have always felt that teachers can either make or break a student. My books are balanced. Lol, no fudge factor for me.
