It's most unfortunate that people seem to imitate their parents, especially with abuse. One would think it would discourage  them from being the same, but apparently one leads to the other.

We often don't realize the true nature of the people we marry until we do marry them. I didn't know your ex went through all that.

This is starting so well i want to read more. i was abused for 20 years, not really physical but emotionally I was almost destroyed.

Good Afternoon

I have to say you were young and in love.  Those two things cause us to overlook what might be warning signs.  I think sometimes with men like your husband there are good points to their personalities but it does not make up for the anger in them.  I wonder how people like that feel inside?  I think their minds must be tormented by their own thinking to be so cruel to others.
