Talk about consolidating shopping. I'm impressed.

Our Maxi stores offer the bogos mentioned by Annicita. Just last week I did a small grocery order and it was paid for by my accumulation of points, therefore free. Still snow coming down up here, and more on its way. I like leftover nights!

One of the chains here offers points 100 points equals $1. They have mystery bonuses which can be 3 to 50 times the amount you would normally get! I always load up on food especially all the bogos when i get 15x or more of mystery bonus. I have gotten over $400 in free food. Sometimes my bill is almost half because of all the bogos.

I hope it warms up there. I can't imagine shopping like that but whatever works for her is great! I still want that mac and cheese!

Re:

Kabu, I'm not organized enough to shop like this.  When I was viewing what the lady bought she did have quite a few snacks for the kids but I can't imagine going to the store with a shopping list a mile long and trying to make sure I had everything I needed for 6 months.  I couldn't handle bringing it all home and trying to figure out where I was going to put everything.  Then I would need a generator in case the electricity went out so that all the meat didn't spoil.

Re: If she has a family of six she must have to hire a moving van

Pat, I could never take the stress of only shopping twice a year.  It's too much for me.  I couldn't believe it when I saw the snow this morning.

I dont enjoy grcery shopping but there is no way I would go twice a year. One must have set meal menus for the week and never alter them to be sure one has everything they need. I expect they must grow their own fruit and vegetables to have something fresh to eat and bake her own bread but how does one or the children ever get a treat? I suppose they don't.

to carry a year's worth of groceries at one time. Doesn't seem very believable to me, but then I couldn't afford to buy a year's worth at one time, even if I had the space to store it once I got it home.   You have my sympathy on the new snow. I'm so over the white stuff I can't believe it.
