Yum! Mac and sharp cheddar cheese, with a little Oka Cheese thrown in. I use dry mustard often in my recipes too, and also dijon, another favorite of mine. Great in tuna or egg salad.

And now I am hungry! My mouth would love some mac and cheese, but still low-carbing it, determined to get down several more pounds!

Re:
Sea Gypsy, every recipe I've seen for vanilla extract requires vodka.

Pat, I love making homemade tomato sauce. During the summer months when we have a lot of tomatoes I make extra sauce and freeze it. I made chocolate chip cookies for Christmas and I put my homemade vanilla extract in them and everyone said how good they were. From now on I'm going to make my cookies with m vanilla extract. There are times when I like the frozen food aisle too.

Re: Good afternoon
Sassy, I'm always looking for new recipes. Sometimes they turn out and sometimes they don't but I always like trying new ones. My whipped butter turned out good and so did my Salisbury steak. That's two new recipes in two weeks. I think I'm on a roll. My recipe was good for my zucchini bread too. It's a very easy recipe.

Re:
Taps, I think it's nice for the family to get together at a restaurant. We do it very seldomly but each time we always have a good time. As I think about this since the pandemic we haven't been to a restaurant. Everything has changed so much. Thank goodness I do like to cook because I'm not sure what I would do. At some point, I hope things get back to normal.

Sounds so cool to make your own vanilla extract. Could one use gin, do you think? I'm not a big fan of vodka.

Cooking was always necessary, a part of the daily dozen for me. I never
quite got into the joy of cooking, in spite of owning that cookbook at one time. There were favorites among my in-laws and my kids, especially when I made my own fresh tomato sauce from the produce in my garden, and my chocolate chip cookies were pretty tasty. These days I'm grateful for the frozen food aisle.

Good afternoon
I love the Pioneer Woman. She has some of the best recipes. It is warming up here too. I am excited about the thought of planting flowers after the last frost. I just watched a Trisha Yearwood episode yesterday where she and her sister Beth went down memory lane with their parent's recipes. I plan to try that company chicken. It looks delish!

I can remember well when my thoughts were always on what I was going to cook next because I was always having company and extended family for meals and eating time. It was so fun and loved ones felt free to show up anytime without special invitations. But I finally got worn out and announced I was giving up cooking. No one has really taken up where I left off and eating out at restaurants has become the big thing amongst my loved ones. Sunday it was Texas Roadhouse.
