This teacher used the edge of the ruler, my hand was swollen and bleeding. I did not show my parents. I was too ashamed.

My hubby has spoken about one teacher is used the ruler as a way of beating sense into the students through pain to the back of the hand. It's good that this is no longer allowed. They not only left a mark on the hand but in the mind of a kid who feared being struck by one.

Good morning
Phones are both a blessing and a curse. They allow for unwanted calls and at times they keep us waiting when we really need to get through to a real person and not some automated message.

Yes, things go wrong, I suppose one has to accept it. Talking of teachers once some
were a vicious breed my Mother said her teacher used to pinch the wrists of the
girls if they made a mistake. I had to laugh at a tale my father told. his brother was
caned at school. His father went to the school and said he would give the teacher a
bloody good hiding if ever touched his boy's again. He never did.

It's amazing how much the phone technology has changed this century. Long gone are the days of switchboards...My dad had a lot of negative experiences with the nuns back in the day.

So frustrating about your grocery order and card! Teachers have to be civil these days. They could have charges pressed for doing that now. Fortunately. Sorry you had to go through that.

Oh, those clinging memories, the infinite cruelty of fate and teachers...
I don't think they're allowed any more to whack kids with a ruler. It's a time-out or a scolding (sometimes still the worst of the worst punishments)...

Good Afternoon
I hope you are staying warm. I'm starting to worry about Archie. I hope you do check up on him. Thankfully your grocery order comes tomorrow. It seems like there's always some aggravation or another when dealing with orders. I'm still waiting for my muffin pan. I'm wondering how long it could possibly take to get it? At this point, I will be surprised when it finally arrives at the door.
