I wait for things to have BOGO and then I stock up. If that doesn't happen, then just like you I go without.

Re:

adnohr, I think you just might be on to something.  I've never thought this through before but in some cases, I'm sure this applies to restaurants across the board.

Everything seems to be more costly now. Have to wonder for certain cases if there's price gouging going on; some industries using COVID as an excuse. I personally know of 2 restaurants here that are making more profts than ever before. Ordinary citizens, reading the papers, feel sorry for the businesses so order takeout often. In the meantime, no employees to pay, limited menus so less food costs, and the delivery person is paid minimum, expected to make up his salary in tips. These owners are laughing silently all the way to the bank.

Re:

Sea Gypsy, I think we will all be lucky if the shelves in the grocery store stay stocked.  That's the first problem and the second one is how much have prices gone up.  I hope prices stabilize sooner than later.  I hope you have a good day!

Re:

FSI, anything that costs too much money now I won't buy.  I'll wait till the price comes down. I hope you have a good day.  Stay warm!

Re: I think I forgot to buy Spam last time I was at the store.

Pat, I hope it warms up by you.  It is nice to have ground meat in the freezer.  I have a grocery list started but we didn't get our ads this week so I have to go online to see what's on sale.

Re: Good morning

Sassy, your temps for next week sound wonderful.  It's been so cold that we haven't gone to the woods to feed the deer.  It's been snowing here off and on all day long.  I hope you have a good afternoon.  Stay warm and safe!

You are right, prices are through the roof. And who gets hurt the most?  People on fixed incomes, people who need their money to eat. It's maddening. I won't buy them either. when it's too expensiv. How many things are we going to have to say we just won't buy or eat as the prices go up and up?

Not buying something due to the costs these days is understandable. I used to enjoy the occaisonal crabcake, but at $30 a pop, I can't justify it.

I think I forgot to buy Spam last time I was at the store.

I may have to thaw out a pound of ground beef and actually do some cooking if the snow hangs on for more than another day or two...

Good morning

That will be a hot & hearty meal for your family. We are doing a refrigerator clean-out today. Normally I would grab a pizza since it's Friday, but we have a few leftovers that need to be wiped out before moving on to a new menu. As for the cold and snow, we got lucky. All we got was a light dusting. It appears to be melting now. Next week our temps will be in the fifties. I am so looking forward to that. Be safe and stay warm.
