I took the easy route - bread dough ready to rise!

Good morning

Oh yes, I have made homemade bread and surprisingly it actually turned out, even without the aid of a starter. Bread in the oven makes the house smell delicious. I have seen cooking shows where they have twenty-year-old starter dough.

You do remember that I have 3 large dogs and a parrot, right?

Or is that why you said 'most' of the time?

I used to love making bread--lots of different kinds.  Now all I bake is biscuits.  Part of the reason is that I have a very small kitchen now and no good place to knead and roll and form.

Good Afternoon

I've never made homemade bread but I know it's delicious.  I think warm butter on fresh bread is the best!  I have a few friends that have used starter but I never have used it.

Re: adnohr,

I bet your house smells delicious most of the time!

I make french baguette bread every other day now. Simple and my kids love it. I start it off in the bread machine (mixing and first rise) then knead it, shape it and the 2nd rise is  under damp towel, then baked in hot oven. I can make 2 loaves with one recipe, and one of the kids or grandkids drop in, knowing they'll probably get a fresh loaf for supperr.
