My mom used cleanser if there were tea stains - worked well. I don't know what you call it there, it is often powder that one uses to clean the sink.

Coffee stains the teeth over time too. I no longer drink it, but I used to down an entire pot back when I was a smoker. Thankfully, that bad habit is 15 years behind me.

I think coffee cups always get stains but every now and then I will soak them in water with a little bleach and they come out as clean as could be.

Easy! Put some baking soda in the cup, just enough to maybe cover the bottom of the cup, and dampen it, then wipe it around like cleanser when you clean a sink. Like magic, the brown stain is gone!

I used to blame it on the cream I put in my coffee. It was the oil that
clung to the enamel. And then I started drinking it black, and the coffee still stains the cup. A wash every other day or so will keep it from looking too terrifying. I laughed at the object of desire in your poem - shame on me.

What you'd better be thankful for is that the coffee pot and the cup are collecting all that nasty brown stuff instead of letting get into your stomach. Can you imagine how hard it would be to scrub that dark brown stuff off of the lining of your stomach.
