They also use chain saws to make the job quicker. I saw a movie about it on Hallmark. That was a fun movie to watch.

Re:

C_C_T, I think this is the best time to write.  Going outside in the cold is not an option.

Re:

Kabu, layers will be much warmer in the freezing cold of winter.

I don't mind the dry cold so much, but we keep getting light rain, and it feels chilly.

I hope you can feel like writing, I suppose this is the best time to get organised.

Life has to go on of course but although I love Winter it can get cold.In Canada I learned about layers of clothes. Not one heavy coat or boots but layers of lightweight but warm clothes.

Re: Good evening

Sassy, I think I'm happiest sitting by the fireplace on cold nights like this.  Stay warm!

Good evening

It's 23 degrees here. The snow has been light and thankfully it isn't sticking, so far. We have enjoyed staying inside today too even though I did run to the store earlier. Those artists must be thick-skinned in order to deal with this chilling weather. I'd rather stay near a heater and a soft blanket than brave the elements. Hope you have a great night.

Re: It chills me to the bone to even think of ice sculptures near a lake...

It's so cold here today that the thought of going by the lake is more than what I could take.

Re:

Taps, they really are beautiful but I'm not artistic and would freeze long before I figured out what to carve out of ice.  I'm always amazed at how talented people are.

I have never gone to an actual ice festival only seen lots of photos of them on tv and on the computer.  I can't even imagine carving ice art.   I wasn't even any good at making crayon pictures when I was a kid.

Re:

FSI, they really are beautiful!  I wish you could see them.  I wonder if they will be online?

It's cold enough for those ice sculptures. I imagine they look beautiful.
