Re: I'd be curious what those firms wanted to do with the land

As I said Pat it is rather sad to think about it. Perhaps I would not mind if it was a hospital or something like that, one could always find somewhere I suppose.

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

As long as I can work I will not part with the land. Most land has been built on here.

Once there were only three houses and now we are the only ones left with gardens. Thank you.

Re: Good Morning Sassy

Yes, and mostly large flats if they can . The trouble is a lot of the normal structure is still as it was. We have had pollution in our river not nice at all.

Re: Ciel

True Ciel, one does have a feel for the land that has passed down through the family.

Although one can be poor and sit on a small fortune.

And it isn't just gardens: It's what remains of family lands, a lot harder to let go of than just anyone's lands. Its gardens and memories, its connection with family and love. I think there must be some poetry in that, too!

It seems like the big firms of everything are trying to buy up the little guys. A whole lot of consolidation going on...Excellent tiger metaphor.

Good morning

If only those buyers' plans were to continue the gardens it would be great, but in reality, they usually plan to build over them. It's the classic story of paving paradise by building a parking lot. It's just not good for our survival.

Good Afternoon

C_C_T, I'm wondering what you would do without your gardens?  I wonder what the firms want to do with your land?  I hope you have a good evening.  Stay warm and safe during these cold months.

I'd be curious what those firms wanted to do with the land

your gardens now grow in - will they be spreading concrete? There is always the question of what next? Would you have to relocate and would that make you unhappy? Would you have work to do that you want to do and an income to match what you're used to?  I'm so nosy. Please ignore all this. I have to say about your tiger, you come up with some complicated, interesting characters.
