It's awesome how all of you pulled together to help him out. There is hope yet for humanity.

CCT - people who move here from the city can find it somewhat smothering

until they need help. Frankly many of the new residents are beginning to realize what closeness in a community can bring. Yes, there is the nosiness, but there is also much caring.

The community is behind him, FSI, and so much stuff and cash has

been donated to help him. He is overwhelmed by their generosity. Doesn't seem to remember how many times he lent a hand when someone needed help.

Thank you so much!

Re: Re: We seem to be 2 of a kind, Goldiec,

They sure are. Each cupcake or muffin slides right out, no need for greasing, and a dip in soap and water, a rinse, let them drip dry. Perfect!

Re: We seem to be 2 of a kind, Goldiec,

adnohr, are the silicone muffin cups easy to clean?

It really sounds how things were here fifty years ago. One knew everyone by sight and was rich in friendliness. A lovely gesture I remember when you looked after Bird.

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to such a kind man. I hope he gets back on his feet quickly.

True, Sassyass, the good warrms our heart evven in the worst of times.

I have a leg with 9 bolts and 2 metal plates in it. No matter what time I go to bed, that leg seems to favor 3 AM to throb, and up I get! It does give me a bit of quiet time and I feed the wood stove too, so I could call it a bit of a silver lining.

It is wonderful, Pat_B, how the community show up when needed.

Of course, there is the other side of the coin, where if you sneeze loudly, everyone knows it!

Sore, but not too bad, Ciel.

We're still looking for the kitty, who fled into the bush with the 2nd set of blasts. Everyone in the area is keeping an eye out.

Bird would certainly approve - he was an old hippie himself, lol.

Unfortunately, since many of the new residents have moved from the

city, they worry about their property value with a 'shack' in the area, and have influenced new building codes. We checked what it would cost for an 'adequate' little house according to these codes, and it would cost approximately 200,000$. No way could Bushman afford it, whether built by the community or not. Now we're on hold, making sure he has clothes, dog food andd basic necessities before planning how he wants to proceed.

Good morning

There must be something to the 3:00 am thing. That is the hour that I always wake up and then I can't go back to sleep until after 4:00 am. Thank goodness nobody was hurt. The good does have its way of outweighing the bad when we have faith and think positive thoughts.

I love this story. Sorry about the fire and loss, but the immediate

response and the kindness is so heartwarming. I love you and your neighbors.

Good Morning

Thank goodness your neighbor survived and people have come forward to help him.  The community sounds like a wonderful place to live.  This post makes me feel good.  There is good in the world and I hold on to these thoughts when things look bleak all around us.  The holidays are over and we are in the midst of winter and a pandemic that feels like it will never end.  When I turned on the news this morning they were reporting 38,000 new omicron cases over the weekend.  That was almost more than what I could take.  Thank you so much for sharing this and Sea Gypsy shared a perfect poem for me this morning.  I hope you stay warm and enjoy your day.

A friend of mine shared a recipe on Facebook for muffins.  My muffin pan rusted and I tossed it but now after I've read these wonderful posts I'm thinking I'm just going to buy a new muffin pan and try the recipe.  It sounds like a positive thing for me to do.

And there it is: The definition of 'community.' Glad all the lives were saved, and I hope his burns are not too bad.

As bad as it all was/is, as you said, what a wonderful community to help make it better and hopefully get Claude back on his feet and safe again! How wonderful to have a mayor who actually listens to the constituents and how generous is the community to all pitch in. Wow! And yes, Bird is smiling wide I'm sure, knowing that his clothes have gone to the right person at the right time. It's good you were there to help. Really good.

Thank God he is OK. Him and his dog and cat. Bird would be happy to know some of his clothes were being used in a good cause and i am betting the community will build him a safer place to live in, something less likely to blow up again. You stay safe as well love.
