I think winter helped a lot in years past because it was so brutal. Several heavy snows each season plus temperatures dipping below zero.

I remember in college, my sophomore year, the bird flu was a big thing. In terms of flus, most people made a big deal out of the swine flu back in 2009.

Good morning
If it isn't one thing it's another. You just cannot be too safe these days. It will be wonderful when all of these deadly viruses, diseases, and pandemics are nothing more than a memory.

Re: Funny, I thought the bird flu was something humans caught from
I think it is rarely caught by humans Pat. One is rather fearful for our garden birds.
I will not feed on a bird table it only needs one diseased bird I would imagine. Yes, it is downhill all the time at present

Re: adnor
Yes, we did have it once before it was nerve-racking. The trend for free-range now makes it very difficult I would imagine, The trouble is we don't get it cold here like we used to do although I don't know if cold weather kills germs.

Re: Kabu
I think they have lowered the time spread here, but so many are always queuing up whenever there is a surgery doing the jabs. I suppose they want to get the jab before Christmas. Take care.

As the days get sharter and colder and people are forced to be inside, masks are not being used except by us so flue is back and Covid is rising. My House mate has had his Booster. I am not due yet.

It started in November, did it not? Apparently the worst episode of bird flu they have ever seen in UK. Fortunately it is rare enough that humans get it, but terrible for poultry farmers who have to cull their stock and there goes their livelihood. It does seem to be one thing after another

Funny, I thought the bird flu was something humans caught from
poultry or wild birds. Dunno why it didn't occur to me that the birds had to catch it first. Duh!
