Re: Good Morning Sassy

Those times are gone. The only ones  I've seen are kind of rather naive.

Re: FS

Inflation seems to keep running you have to pay more and the customer also.

Re: adnohr

You sound like the ideal customer. Not many of those around now.

Re: Sea_Gypsy

I suppose Amazon and such pulled the rug. Thank you.

I remember vacuum salesmen, the Hoover I think, and the Fuller brush salesman. There was something called a Jewel Tea truck that I recall but Mother didn't buy from it. Then there was a Helms bakery truck...

I usedd to buy all my spices from the Watkins man; also bought a vacuum cleaner and a set of pots and pans (that I still have and use), an encyclopedia...and clothes from  a lady selling door to door, fish and seafood...the list goes on. If they are willing to put themselves out there, I am willing to buy if I want their product.

I would be careful around that lady of ice; I doubt she has any warm feelings.

Ah I remember when slaesmen used to come to the farm. Mother always bought from Watkins and a man used to tow a van behind his truck filled with mainly linens blankets and work clothes. Mother always bought her aprons from this man. The ones she always wore around the house.

I like going to a store where items are on shelves, packaged and

marked as to price, contents, etc. The idea of buying out of a suitcase seems a bit chancy.  As for the lady of ice -- forget about it.

Good Afternoon

I think it's best to stay away from people selling out of a suitcase.  There's no telling where the items came from.

Things keep on going up. Hopefully, things will calm down.

Good morning

Sales from a suitcase was once a lucrative business. There was a time when you could buy anything from a toilet brush to seasonings or a vacuum cleaner.
