I guess one will make itself at home. They are rather astute. The cat I feed has more
or less deserted me except for feeding time. I do occasionally run a flea comb
through his fur, or brush him with an organic flea or bug preventer. I think he has
found an easy chair somewhere, but it does not provide sufficient nourishment

Good afternoon
I have heard that cats choose their owners. Maybe your home is a welcoming sight where he feels safe.

I don't trust feral cats - they're too much like their untamed giant
cousins, and who knows what diseases and mites they pick up as they stalk the wild areas. My former daughter-in-law was very fond of the tribe of feral kitties who lived on the campus of the college near their house, and always took food out to them. This was only one of the things I admired about her.
