Re: sassyass,
Maybe I will ask around the well-established little theaters who might have space available, and could use some extra rent coming in.

Re: Kabu,
Thinking of late summer, if we do it at all. In time for Halloween and the holidays.

Re: sassyass,
Yes, it's a lot, but we have a space with a door at each end, 12x30, I think.

Covid has devastated our life styles. Myself I would wait until Spring. I am thinking there will be another surge this Winter which may be the last.

Good afternoon
The COVID has closed way too many businesses down. Our local theatre has an adjacent costume store with a seamstress on hand. Lori, the theatre owner helps with the sewing needs too. $400 per month is a fairly hefty amount for storage.

Re: Pat,
Charlie and I will be seeking such input. I already do have something of a library, and back in the olden times when I had a proper shop back in Olympia, I had a great rental system going! I could do that again!

Re: Annicita,
If word-of-mouth could get me one show/client per month, it would be great! I will be getting a mention at this show, one of my conditions along with a couple of comp tickets!

Re: CCT,
In fact, I have been kind of withdrawn/retired for a while, and not mounting any large ad campaigns. But apparently I have rested enough, and have actually found some enthusiasm for it again. I'll start with increasing communications to the local theater community. Charlie and I discussed opening a combined shop, and are pondering on it, potentially setting a goal of firing up next end-of-summer.

A lot of small shops are closing here. the rates being killers. I would not take
anything on a long lease, it would be nice to see how it goes. Do you advertise the
costumes sometimes folks are unaware of the possibility?

Perhaps this will give you more exposure and more clients to pay the rent and then some!

If you have theatrical friends on FB why not get some input from them
about setting up shop somewhere - costumes for Halloween, holiday parties, etc., maybe even rentals - and possibly books on acting, history of theatre, biographies of actors/playwrights, etc... Maybe you're not the only creative artist with something valuable to offer, and/or there may be folks who'd work a sales floor in character to bring in foot traffic. Oh, dear. I know nothing about this stuff. Please ignore me.
