Re: Sea_Gypsy

Oh! dear, you don't feel like writing. A whole retirement home has come down with it near here. You really are going through the mill. So sorry.

Re: FS

Yes once it tumbles down we might regret not saving some of the best.

Pat we have dug potatoes riddled with slugs keel slugs I think they are called probably not in potato fields as the ground is worked extensively. I do vaguely remember the song. Also girls from a  kind of institution riding home with songs.

@ They tell us we're too young to be in love.

Re: Sassyass

Yes, Sassy I really love chips, but the chef says we have been indulging too deeply into the chip pan.

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

It was like a spring day here yesterday. We do not seem to get very cold weather, we used too, The Thames used to freeze over, a long time ago.

Re: Sea_Gypsy

Well not often S.G. but it depends on the soil. Perhaps your ground never gets really wet. Slugs and snails and puppy dog tails abound. I do hope you are feeling better and your renovations are up to spec. Take care.

O.K. I'll walk on by on the treadmill. We are trying to slim so we do not eat spuds at present, usually, we have chips, it is now a chip on my shoulder.

Good Afternoon

C_C_T,  It's very cold here and we are expecting snow before long.  The sun is shining but that will change soon and before long we will have a grey sky just like you.

Speaking of potatoes, they are on my dinner menu tonight. Potatoes are one of the most versatile veggies there are.

Good afternoon

Yesterday was sunny and hot. Today, I am seeing those same grey skies as you. I am not a fan of the color grey.

The potato poem reminds me - for no reason whatsoever - of a

song that made people grin a few years back. "I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch."  I had never heard that a slug will ruin a potato for its usual ordained mission...

It's always fun to go back and read our old writings. It shows us what we were like at the time...A clever poem you have written.
