Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec
Of course some leaves are not really suitable, but a lot of folks do compost here.
We had a couple of frosts and now it is mild again. We want to get the raspberry stems cut down and start a fresh bed before bad weather comes if it does come.

Re: Sassyass
Thank you. Sassy the men I know with bad knees, Plumbers, carpet fitters, etc.
Most of my kneeling was done on soil picking strawberries etc, so it was not a
really hard surface. Sadly what we think at 24 is not always wise.

Re: Kabu
Well, I expect you have plenty to do inside. What kind of heating have you, how near to the shops are you. I ask because My S.I.L the one who lost her husband is always interested in things like that. I phone her each day as she is on her own and has to walk with a frame.

Re: Ciel
I've laid a really heavy weed cover down but the weeds sometimes grow on top if it isn't kept absolutely clean. Good luck with yours.

Quite a job to do there. Consider hiring a young kid to help out. sounds liketoo much work for two people. The poem is sweet and wistful. It's hard to find a good match sometimes.

There are so many weed stems to pull up here, and clear away--and they will all be right back next spring and summer! We've laid down some bark and weed cloth under it to discourage the growth around the garden boxes, and it's looking like spreading out that mulched area wider come spring.

Good afternoon
You are in need of a good set of knee pads. Tired knees eventually give out. Gardening to this extent is hard work. The fruits of your labor result in pure beauty, and I thank you for that.

Sometimes I think of the scent of burning leaves and get into a
nostalgic mood. I understand why it's illegal these days, but the incense of autumn was in earlier times one of the signals of the changing seasons. Our city picks up yard waste and turns it into mulch - don't know if it's used in city parks or given to local farmers.

Good Afternoon
C_C_T, I'm glad that you have a plan. I hope you end up with some beautiful mulch. There's no burning in our village for anything. We usually take our leaves to the woods. I hope they keep the animals warm on cold winter nights. My wish for you this winter is to stay toasty warm. It's so cold here today. The wind does not help.

I have never seen anyone burn leaves. It's not legal where I live at...It feels like a lost love.
