Such a pity to have been injured in that way. It is fascinating to learn the history of one's relations, especially if like this it was all kept secret. I did learn one of my uncles was chained to the field gun in WW1. I imagine his hearing was not so good afterwards.

Pat, thank you for sharing this post. I found it to be very interesting. I think moving a house would be a big project to say the very least. I give your Mom so much credit. She raised a family on her own and provided the family the best life she could give all of you.

Good morning
Lost history and secrecy have long been a part of our military and the government. The general public could not handle the intricate details that go on during wartime. As for the home your mother purchased and later had moved, this in itself is fascinating when you consider that she did these things on her own. Your family and their stories are so much fun to read about. Thanks for sharing them with us. have a great day.
